International Summer Academy

The annual residential summer school of the Cyprus Youth Symphony Orchestra through the years 2006 – 2008 developed into an International Summer Music Academy with the participation of distinguished teachers and advanced students from many countries. Students normally pay their own flight to Cyprus. Accommodation (full board), tuition and transport within Cyprus are offered free of charge.

The Academy is organised in the high mountain village of Pedoulas (ca. 1200m. above sea level) during the last two weeks of August. In the first week is mainly given over to master classes, wind orchestra, sectional rehearsals and some ad hoc chamber music training, whereas the second week is devoted to the preparation of a symphonic programme. Additionally, there are daily lunch-time concerts, open to the public, as well as evening concerts at the end of each week.

The full list of the teaching staff will be posted here in due course.
