Under the auspices of the Minister of Education and Culture, Dr. Costas Kadis
After an invitation by the Cypriot Cultural Centre of Vienna, an ensemble of the Cyprus Youth Symphony Orchestra along with the Lefkosia Music Lyceum Choir will participate in the successful annual “Zypriotisches Galakonzert” at the Musikverein. The concert is an already established event in the music scene of Viennese cultural life. Aiming to promote Cypriot culture abroad, the two music ensembles will meet on stage with distinguished artists from Cyprus and Greece in a programme that will comprise works by classical composers such as Mozart, Bizet, Rossini and Verdi as well as works by contemporary Cypriot composers such as M. Christodoulides, traditional Cypriot songs including songs by A. Lympourides and excerpts from popular works by Greek composers M. Theodorakis, M. Hadjidakis and S. Xarharkos, under the direction of Yiorgos Kountouris.
